  • Ariya Mukherjee-Gandhi, born and raised in New York City, is a junior at The Spence School who loves exploring creativity in all its forms. As an Art Scholar in Spence’s Fellowship program, she enjoys creating multidisciplinary work and has received several Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Beyond the studio, Ariya is engaged in the intersections of art, technology, and civic life, serving as a facilitator with YVote, a council member with Encode, and a junior Editor-in-Chief of S.C.R.A.W.L, Spence’s art and literary magazine. She is especially interested in the people behind technology and the decisions that shape what it becomes. Her curiosity extends to questions of originality, transparency, and fairness in an age of AI, especially the importance of ensuring that artists receive the recognition and respect they deserve. She is most excited about using creativity to connect people, ideas, and stories in ways that feel alive and accessible. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new food spots with friends and cooking for her family.
