Join us on Tuesday, November 10 for this month’s IMPULSE Forum at Hill Art Foundation, featuring the current group show, Thucydides Fever Dream, curated by Xin Wang.

Moderated by curator Sharon X. Liu, the conversation will be centered around dreams and memory.

Much like literary translation—when a reader trusts a translated book most once they stop noticing the translator—a dream starts to feel real when we forget where particular dream fragments come from. Working between languages and cultures, mistranslation and reinterpretation have come to act as access points in observing how others’ rituals arrive altered and end up internalized. With each work in Thucydides Fever Dream, we cannot always tell which memories we are remembering and which memories we are making up. But in reading how each ritual, image or name was recycled, we might begin to see through the cracks.

The event will start at 6PM. RSVP now to receive the discussion guide and reference materials in your inbox! RSVP here.
