On the 30th of April, we spoke with Donald Johnson Montenegro at the Hill Art Foundation about his experience working with art. A director at Luhring Augustine gallery, Mr. Montenegro plays a vital role in communicating with artists and matching their works with the right buyer. We asked Mr. Montenegro about his journey to the art world, the business of art, and the type of audiences an artwork may attract. We also spoke about the possible interpretations of Christopher Wool’s painting, Untitled, 2005, currently on view at the Hill Art Foundation as part of the exhibition Maybe Maybe Not: Christopher Wool and the Hill Collection.
