Mumeen Rufai is a junior at Avenues the World School and an aspiring architect. He aims to reintroduce the beauty of contemporary art into cities through buildings, plazas and recreational centers. He was born in Osun State, Nigeria and moved to New York when he was just about two years old. The presence of cultural history in art meant a lot to him and it’s why he aims to teach others about the relevance of history through art and architecture. Mumeen is mainly inspired by the works of Greek and Roman philosophers, the colors and mythos of south and eastern Asia, the interconnection of the Pacific Islands wayfinders, and the revival of art during the darkest periods in Europe.
