Thomas Crow

Thomas Crow teaches the history of art at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU.  He specializes in eighteenth-century Europe and the recent art of Europe and North America.  Among his recent books are The Artist in the Counterculture: From Bruce Conner to Mike Kelley and Other Tales from the Edge (2023); The Hidden Mod in Modern Art: London 1957-1969 (2017); and Murder in the Rue Marat: A Case of Art in Revolution (2025).  He is a recent Guggenheim Fellow and a contributing editor at Artforum International Magazine.
